X-Posed
For this project, I was challenged to create a poster, a postcard, and a social media post to represent SDSU’s annual Open Studios event, which allows prospective students to learn more about the art department and the possibilities within it.
As my concept developed, I realized that my collaging resembled the type of x-ray images that one might see at airport security checkpoints. Upon researching these images further, I was really drawn to the idea because I felt that it would portray these tools in a more interesting and unique way. I chose to depict the various tools in cyan, magenta, or yellow as a reference to the process of graphic design and print, where the CMYK color palette plays a prominent role.
